Peavey Terminal
Loucks
Associates served as Project Manager for a St. Paul Port Authority rail
reconstruction and roof repair project for the Peavey Terminal in St.
Paul, Minnesota. The rail line was undersized and poor drainage at the
switches and crossing was causing ice build-up during winter months,
resulting in numerous derailments.
Loucks
Associates prepared bidding documents including plans and specification
for the rail reconstruction and re-grading of the site to improve
drainage. Project reconstruction included up grading approximately 3000
lineal foot of rail from 90 lbs. to 155 lbs., upgrade of switches,
ballast, ties and tie plates. We designed additional storm sewer inlets
and re-graded the ground adjacent to the rails to prevent water and ice
forming within the track area. downloadable PDF
