Loucks Associates
State Fair Grandstand
Loucks Associates provided Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Surveying and Environmental services for a major renovation of the Grandstand at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The centerpiece of Loucks’ efforts was the design of the Plaza and Pedestrian Spaces, which creates the new open space look of the Grandstand. Loucks also did the Civil Design for sewer and water, repaving of the seating areas, and reconstruction of the performance stage. Loucks’ Environmental staff conducted a Phase I ESA to identify potential issues involving hazardous materials during the demolition, as well as the MDH/MPCA required Demolition Survey directed at asbestos, mercury switch, and lead paint issues. Loucks’ Surveyors prepared the existing conditions plan, and provided construction surveying services during the renovation.
