Loucks Associates

Recreational

The development of a recreational facility – park, trail, athletic facility, playground, etc. – is very often constrained by public budget limitations and timing. Understanding the public budgeting process and sources of funding is as important as functional and aesthetic design. Most such projects also contain a central component of master planning. Our landscape architecture group has a very strong focus on the development of functional and flexible master plans that enhance the human experience of the natural environment. These plans are often designed to be phased, as budget cycles allow.

Outside of the public arena, Loucks’ professionals have experience in various private recreational venues such as: golf course design; utility and drainage design for golf courses; athletic facilities for schools and universities; and infrastructure and site design for a 400 acre resort, marina, hotel and athletic complex.
